Remove pits by cutting avocados in half lengthwise. Scoop out the flesh using a spoon and place it in a mixing bowl.


Mash the avocados with a fork or a potato masher until desired consistency. You can leave some small chunks for texture.


Add the finely diced onion, diced tomatoes, chopped jalapeño pepper, and fresh cilantro to the mashed avocados.


 Squeeze the juice of a lime into the mixture. This adds a bright flavor and helps prevent browning.


Sprinkle salt to taste and mix all the ingredients together until well combined.


 Let the guacamole sit for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.


Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl and garnish with a sprig of cilantro or a slice of lime.
