Preparation
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for optimal crispiness.
- Peel (if desired) and cut the sweet potatoes into 1/4 to 1/2-inch fries. Pat them dry using a clean towel.
- In a large bowl, toss the fries with cornstarch, then drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Coat each fry evenly using your hands to ensure spices cling properly.
Cooking
- Arrange fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
- Cook for 7 to 9 minutes, then shake the basket or toss the fries with tongs.
- Continue cooking for another 7 to 9 minutes, monitoring closely in the last 2 minutes to prevent burning.
- Once cooked, transfer fries to a bowl or sheet pan, season with additional salt, and garnish with parsley or lime if desired.
Notes
For a sweet variation, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve with yogurt. Serve alongside dishes like air-fried fajitas for a complete meal.
