Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup Cooked, crumbled Bacon Thick-cut bacon recommended for more flavor.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese Optional—adds extra cheesiness.
For the Mummies
  • 12 pieces Jalapenos Fresh and firm, cut in half and seeded.
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Store-bought sheets are ideal.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut the jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove the seeds.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and cooked bacon until smooth.
  4. Generously fill each jalapeno half with the creamy bacon mixture.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into strips. Wrap the strips around the stuffed jalapenos.
Baking
  1. Place the wrapped mummies on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Let cool for a minute before serving.

Notes

For added spice, incorporate cayenne pepper or chili powder in the filling. You can also use mini sweet peppers as a milder alternative.
