Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Add the eggs, buttermilk, oil, Bailey’s, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting
- Frost with your favorite chocolate or buttercream frosting, optionally infused with Bailey’s.
Notes
For variations, you can add instant coffee for a mocha twist, fold in nuts, layer with berries, or add festive decorations.
