Preparation
- Choose a microwave-safe mug (10 to 12 ounces) and lightly grease the inside with oil or butter.
- Add the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir gently with a fork to combine.
- Stir in the milk, oil, and vanilla until smooth. The batter should be slightly thick but pourable.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, saving a few for the top.
Cooking
- Microwave on high for 40 seconds, then check. If it’s still jiggly, microwave in 10-second bursts until set.
- Let the mug rest for 30 seconds to finish cooking.
Serving
- Top as desired with ice cream, caramel, or powdered sugar.
- Spoon straight from the mug and enjoy.
Notes
Mug brownies are best fresh. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours and reheat in the microwave.
