Preparation
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Let it warm up.
  2. Add the sliced smoked sausage to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the edges become crispy and brown.
  3. Toss in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the fresh green beans to the skillet, stirring well to combine.
  5. Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning and stir it all together.
  6. Add the chicken broth, ensuring the mixture is well-coated.
  7. Cover the skillet and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the green beans are tender but still crisp.
  8. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper. Optionally, sprinkle some red pepper flakes for added heat.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm it on the stovetop over low heat with a splash of water or broth if needed.
