Preparation
- Start by washing, peeling, and coring your apples. Cut them into slices, about 1/4 inch thick.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, letting it bubble gently.
- Once the butter is melted, add the sliced apples to the skillet and gently stir to coat each piece well.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt over the apples and stir.
- Allow the apples to cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally until tender.
- If using lemon juice, drizzle it over the apples in the last minute of cooking.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on low heat, adding a splash of water to revive the sauce.
