Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef. Add in the minced garlic, salt, and pepper, letting the mixture brown for about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, allowing it to simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, half of the shredded mozzarella, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce at the bottom. Layer 4 lasagna noodles, a generous amount of the ricotta mixture, followed by more meat sauce. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and the remaining mozzarella.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil (being careful not to touch the cheese) and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
- Allow the lasagna to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
