  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Can substitute with tofu or shrimp.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh is best, but frozen will do!
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Use tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Optional; skip if vegetarian.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced The aromatic star!
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Can use olive oil in a pinch.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water To thicken the sauce.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Simple seasonings that elevate the dish.

Method
 

Cooking Process
  1. Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large pan or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken to the pan and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Toss in the broccoli florets and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes, until bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and cornstarch mixture. Pour the sauce over the chicken and broccoli.
  6. Allow everything to simmer for an additional 2 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  7. Remove from heat and serve over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

Fantastic as leftovers; refrigerate up to 3 days or freeze for 1 month. Reheat in the microwave or pan.
