Pasta and Chicken
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni) Choose your favorite shape for a delightful texture.
  • 2 cups cooked chicken Shredded or diced; perfect for leftovers or a rotisserie chicken shortcut.
Sauce and Cheese
  • 1 jar marinara sauce (about 24 oz) Opt for homemade or store-bought, depending on your kitchen time.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese A must for that irresistible cheesiness.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds that nutty flavor; feel free to use nutritional yeast for a vegan twist.
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano Adds a fragrant depth of flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential for seasoning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté garlic in olive oil until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add the cooked chicken and marinara sauce into the skillet, stirring to combine. Allow it to simmer gently for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine pasta, chicken mixture, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Toss everything together until coated.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top it with the remaining mozzarella and sprinkle the grated Parmesan over the top.
  5. Sprinkle oregano, salt, and pepper for added flavor.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Add veggies like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition. Use crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. Serve with a side salad and garlic bread.
