- In a large pot, boil salted water and cook your pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the diced tomatoes (with juice) and beef broth.
- Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning and bring to a simmer. Let it bubble gently for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked pasta, mixing well to coat every piece.
- Remove from heat and fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
Notes
For a creamier sauce, add a splash of heavy cream or some cream cheese. You can also add red pepper flakes for heat or vegetables for added nutrition.
