Ingredients
  

Pasta and Meat
  • 8 oz pasta (any shape) Penne or macaroni work beautifully.
  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with turkey or plant-based meat.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped Adds sweetness and depth.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Because every great dish starts with garlic!
Sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes For freshness and acidity.
  • 1 cup beef broth Or vegetable broth to keep it vegetarian.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese The star of the show!
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning For that classic flavor.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, boil salted water and cook your pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the diced tomatoes (with juice) and beef broth.
  5. Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning and bring to a simmer. Let it bubble gently for about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in the cooked pasta, mixing well to coat every piece.
  7. Remove from heat and fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.

Notes

For a creamier sauce, add a splash of heavy cream or some cream cheese. You can also add red pepper flakes for heat or vegetables for added nutrition.
