Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing and chopping your fresh spinach. If using frozen, ensure it’s thawed and drained well to avoid excess moisture.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for about 3 minutes, until it’s softened and translucent.
  3. Introduce the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute, making sure it doesn’t brown.
  4. Next, toss in the spinach and gently stir until wilted, which will take about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream and cream cheese. Stir until the cream cheese has fully melted and blended into the sauce.
  6. Finally, add the grated Parmesan cheese (if using), salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning as needed and let simmer for another minute.
Serving
  1. Serve warm and enjoy the comforting goodness!

Notes

For added flavor, consider stirring in a pinch of nutmeg or a squeeze of lemon juice. For a healthier variant, swap out heavy cream for Greek yogurt. This dish is perfect for leftovers and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
