  • 1/4 cup Butter, melted Adds richness.

Preparation
  1. Lightly grease your crock pot with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the frozen hash browns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, half of the cheddar cheese, diced onion, melted butter, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well-combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into your prepared slow cooker, spreading it evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.

  1. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.

Notes

For extra crispiness, try broiling the casserole for a few minutes after it’s done cooking. Use freshly shredded cheese for a creamier texture. If you’re short on time, pre-diced frozen onions can save you some prep work.
