  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed Can be swapped with frozen green beans if needed.
  • 1 each onion, sliced Provides a lovely base flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Enhances the flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Essential for bringing out natural flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon pepper Essential for bringing out natural flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Use fresh herbs for extra vibrancy.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Vegetable broth works too for a lighter option.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Begin by slicing the sausage into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Place the sausage in the bottom of the crockpot, followed by the sliced onions and minced garlic.
  3. Add the trimmed green beans on top of the sausage.
  4. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning over the top, then pour in the chicken broth.
  5. Set your crockpot to low and let it cook for 6-8 hours (or 3-4 hours on high).
  6. Serve hot when ready.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. It can also be frozen in portions for longer storage.
