Preparation
- In a bowl, combine thinly sliced flank steak with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.
- Wash and chop the broccoli into florets. Gather your garlic and ginger.
Cooking
- In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef in a single layer and let it sear for about 2-3 minutes without stirring. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes until browned. Remove from pan.
- In the same pan, add minced garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant—about 30 seconds.
- Toss the broccoli into the pan and stir-fry for about 4 minutes until bright green.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet, pour in oyster sauce, sesame oil, and remaining soy sauce. Stir-fry together for another 2 minutes.
- Plate your beef and broccoli and serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of water or microwave for 1-2 minutes to warm through.
