Chai Base Ingredients
  • 2 bags Black tea bags The base of your chai, providing that rich, robust flavor.
  • 1 stick Cinnamon stick For a warm and slightly sweet spice.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground ginger Adds a zesty kick.
  • 2 pods Cardamom pods Crushed to release their fragrant oils.
  • 2 pieces Cloves For a hint of earthiness.
Milk and Sweetener
  • 2 cups Milk Use whole, almond, oat, or any milk of your choice.
  • to taste Honey or sweetener To balance the spices.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small pot, bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil.
  2. Add the cinnamon stick, ground ginger, cardamom pods, and cloves. Let them simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Drop in the black tea bags and let them steep for 3-5 minutes.
  4. In a separate saucepan, gently heat the milk over medium heat until steam starts to rise.
  5. Remove the tea bags and spices, then stir in honey or your preferred sweetener.
  6. Pour the warm milk into the spiced mixture, and froth if desired.
  7. Serve your chai latte in a cozy mug and sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with chai spice blends, adjust sweetness with maple syrup or stevia. This chai latte is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
