  • 2 cups Chicken or Vegetable Broth Use homemade if you have it—store-bought works beautifully too.
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce Adds depth and a hint of umami. Coconut aminos can be used for a gluten-free option.

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Gradually whisk in the flour until a smooth, golden roux forms. Keep stirring for about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Slowly add the broth while whisking continuously, letting it thicken into a luscious sauce.
  4. Add the soy sauce to deepen the flavor, and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Let the gravy simmer for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until it reaches your desired consistency.
  6. Serve your Easy Gravy warm.

Notes

For a herbed twist, add fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary. For onion gravy, sauté chopped onions in the butter before adding flour. For mushroom gravy, stir in sautéed mushrooms.
