Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over it and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- Once the yeast is active, mix in the melted butter and egg until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for an additional 10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush the tops with a bit of melted butter for a golden crust and bake for 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown.
- Allow them to cool slightly on a wire rack before enjoying.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To freeze, wrap each roll tightly in plastic wrap, then foil. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
