- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread with diced vegetables and cooked meat. Toss gently to mix.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until fully combined. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread and meat layer, letting everything soak for a few minutes. For maximum flavor, cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish, then sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the casserole is puffed up and golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares. Serve hot.
