Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Sausages Use your favorite type – Italian, chicken, or plant-based.
  • 4 cups Green Cabbage, chopped Adds crunch and is nutrient-rich.
  • 1 Onion, sliced Provides sweetness and depth.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Gives an aromatic kick.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil For sautéing, enhances flavors.
  • Salt and Pepper To taste, balances the dish.
  • Red Pepper Flakes Optional, for a spice kick.

Method

Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  2. Slice the sausage into bite-sized pieces and add them to the pan. Cook for about 5 minutes or until they are browned and cooked through.
  3. Add the onion and garlic, stirring frequently for about 2-3 minutes, until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
  4. Stir in the chopped cabbage, pour in a splash of water, and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, until the cabbage is wilted but still has a nice crunch.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, then serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For make-ahead, chop veggies and sausages the night before. Can be frozen for later meals.
