- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sausage. Cook until browned and crumbly, about 5–7 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion and diced bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté until they begin to soften, around 3–4 minutes.
- Stir in the rice, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning, cooking for another minute until the grains are slightly toasted.
- Pour in the chicken broth and diced tomatoes. Stir well and bring to a gentle boil.
- Lower the heat, add the frozen peas, and season with salt and pepper. Stir well.
- Cover the skillet and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid.
