Cooking Steps
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sausage. Cook until browned and crumbly, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Add the chopped onion and diced bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté until they begin to soften, around 3–4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the rice, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning, cooking for another minute until the grains are slightly toasted.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and diced tomatoes. Stir well and bring to a gentle boil.
  5. Lower the heat, add the frozen peas, and season with salt and pepper. Stir well.
  6. Cover the skillet and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid.
  7. Fluff the casserole with a fork, serve warm, and enjoy!

Notes
