  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Pantry staple that adds warmth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Pantry staple that adds warmth.
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping them intact as a whole sheet for easy assembly.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds, and black pepper.
Assembly
  1. Layer the bottom half of the rolls in the baking dish, tuck slices of ham evenly across the surface, and top with cheese.
  2. Place the top half of the rolls over the filling, brush with the butter-mustard mixture, and tent loosely with foil.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12 minutes covered, then remove the foil and bake another 3–6 minutes until cheese is melty and tops are golden.
  2. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm. For crispier edges, broil for 1–2 minutes while watching closely.

Notes

Make-ahead: Assemble the sliders, cover tightly, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Freeze assembled, unbaked sliders wrapped tightly in foil for up to 2 months.
