  • 12 pieces soft slider rolls or King’s Hawaiian-style sweet rolls, split horizontally They caramelize beautifully.
  • 10–12 ounces thin slices of deli ham Choose smoked or honey ham for more flavor.
  • 8 ounces Swiss cheese, gouda, or cheddar, sliced thin Melts into gooey perfection.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted For brushing the tops.
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard or grainy mustard Adds brightness and depth.
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds Optional, for a classic, crunchy garnish.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce A savory umami lift.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley Optional, for color and freshness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment if you like easy cleanup.
  2. Slice the slider rolls horizontally in one motion so the tops stay connected; set tops and bottoms aside.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and parsley. The mixture will smell savory and bright.
Assembly
  1. Layer the bottom halves of the rolls in the baking dish snugly.
  2. Tuck slices of ham evenly over the bottoms, then pile on the cheese so each slider gets a gooey blanket.
  3. Replace the roll tops, brush generously with the butter-mustard mixture, and sprinkle poppy seeds if using.
Baking
  1. Cover with foil and bake for 12 minutes.
  2. Remove foil, then bake 3–6 more minutes until the tops are golden and cheese is bubbling.
  3. Let the sliders rest 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead: Assemble the sliders in the dish, cover tightly, and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Bake when ready, adding a few extra minutes if cold. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
