Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
- If using frozen kataifi, thaw it according to package instructions and lightly fluff it with a fork.
Melting and Mixing
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
- Remove from heat. Stir in sugar and mix until dissolved. Fold in the pistachios.
Layering and Baking
- Spread half of the kataifi evenly in the prepared baking dish. Pour the chocolate mixture on top, then top with the remaining kataifi, pressing it down slightly.
- Bake for 25 minutes until golden and fragrant.
Cooling and Serving
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting them into squares.
Notes
For a nutty twist, try incorporating different nuts like hazelnuts. For a dairy-free option, use dairy-free chocolate and vegan butter.
