Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs You can substitute with boneless thighs or chicken breasts.
  • 1/3 cup honey Use raw or clover honey for best flavor.
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced Fresh garlic adds the best flavor, but garlic powder can be used in a pinch.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Opt for low-sodium soy sauce for a lighter option.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Any oil can be used for searing.
  • to taste black pepper
  • to taste salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to achieve a crispy skin. Season with salt and black pepper.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs skin-side down and sear until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Flip the chicken thighs and cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic.
  4. Pour the honey garlic mixture over the chicken thighs in the skillet, bring to a gentle simmer, and reduce heat to medium-low.
  5. Let it bubble away for about 10-15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens.
Finishing Touches
  1. Optional: Garnish with fresh chopped parsley or sesame seeds for a lovely presentation.

Notes

Storage: Let leftovers cool completely before placing in an airtight container. They will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freezing: You can freeze the cooked chicken thighs for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or a skillet with a splash of water or broth.
