  • green onions, sliced For garnish; can substitute with chives.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce and brown sugar, whisking until the sugar dissolves. Add the beef strips and let them marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle cornstarch over the beef and toss until well-coated.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the beef in batches and sear for about 2-3 minutes until browned, then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add ginger and garlic. Sauté until aromatic.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet, add the marinade mixture, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Sprinkle sliced green onions on top before serving.

Notes

Mongolian Beef can be served over rice or cauliflower rice for a low-carb option. Customize with additional vegetables for variety.
