  • 1 lb chicken tenders (fresh or thawed)
  • 1 cup pretzel crumbs (or crushed regular pretzels) You can buy pre-made crumbs.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour) Use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free option.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed Cooking spray For a golden finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the pretzel crumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create the coating.
  2. Set up a dipping station: one bowl with flour and another with whisked eggs until light and frothy.
  3. Coat each chicken tender in flour, dip in egg, and then press into the pretzel mixture until fully covered.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray and arrange chicken tenders in a single layer, not overcrowding.
  3. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  4. Let them rest for a minute before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with tofu or eggplant. Consider adding crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy twist, or serve with various dipping sauces.
