Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the chicken thighs, sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
Cooking
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken, reserving some marinade, and sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the chicken cooks, warm the matbucha in a separate saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once the chicken is done, pour the reserved marinade over it and allow to simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
Serving
- Plate the sesame chicken atop a generous serving of matbucha, sprinkling toasted sesame seeds over the top.
Notes
For added spice, include red pepper flakes or sriracha. Serve with jasmine rice or pita. To make paleo-friendly, substitute honey with coconut sugar and use cauliflower rice.
