Preparation
- Chop the vegetables and season the chicken.
- Place the chopped vegetables at the bottom of the slow cooker.
Assembly
- Nestle the chicken on top of the chopped vegetables.
- Pour the chicken broth over the chicken and sprinkle with seasoning.
Cooking
- Set the slow cooker to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, prepare the dumpling dough.
- Roll out the dough or cut it into squares and place them atop the chicken mixture.
- Cover and cook for an additional 30-40 minutes until the dumplings are fluffy.
Serving
- Ladle the warm chicken and dumplings into bowls and enjoy!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Can be frozen in portions for later use. Adjust seasoning and include fresh herbs before serving for added flavor.
