- Chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces, dice the onion, and mince the garlic.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Cooking
- In the slow cooker, combine the meat with cabbage, rice, chopped onion, garlic, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir until well mixed.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
Serving
- Once ready, give it a stir and taste for seasoning. Serve piping hot.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge. They also freeze beautifully. Don't skip the browning of the meat for enhanced flavor. For a twist, consider adding fresh herbs, red pepper flakes for spice, or cheese for a delightful topping.
