Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with a touch of butter or non-stick spray.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer until it’s light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, being careful not to overmix.
- Spread the dough evenly into the baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
These bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them individually wrapped in plastic wrap for up to three months. When ready to enjoy, thaw at room temperature or microwave briefly.
