- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat, swirling it around to coat the pan.
- Add the sliced onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and stir well to combine.
- Pour in the chicken broth, cover, and let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
- Once the cabbage is ready, stir in the shrimp and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
- Remove from heat and serve right away.
