Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan and line it with parchment for easy lifting.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy — about 2–3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until incorporated, then stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, stirring until just combined.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
Baking
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Glazing and Serving
- Once cool, whisk together glaze ingredients and drizzle over the top, or spread your favorite frosting.
- Slice into bars and serve.
Notes
Use room temperature eggs and butter for a smoother batter. Store unfrosted bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Frosted bars should be refrigerated and enjoyed within 4 days.
