Enjoy the warm and crunchy flavors of grilled pears with caramelized walnuts and honey. It is an easy-to-make and delightful dessert that combines the natural sweetness of pears with caramelized walnuts and honey.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe but firm pears (such as Bosc or Anjou)

  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • pinch of salt

  • honey for drizzling

  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)

Directions

  • To prepare pears, preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cut the pears in half and remove the core.
  • Brush the pear halves with a little melted butter to prevent sticking.
  • Place pears, cut side down, on preheated grill.
  • Grill for 3-5 minutes or until you get nice grill marks. Flip the pears and grill the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove pears from grill and set aside.
  • To prepare caramelized walnuts, Melt remaining butter in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped walnuts and stir constantly until they are lightly toasted, about 2-3 minutes.

  • Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the sugar melts and the walnuts caramelize. Be careful not to burn them.
  • Place grilled pear halves on a serving plate.
  • Spoon caramelized walnuts over each pear half.

  • And serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a spoonful of whipped cream for an extra delicious treat.
